On May 16th GENaustin brought twelve 5-6th grade girls from KIPP Austin Public Schools to Dell headquarters to learn about technology and leadership. The week before the girls had attended a GirlConnect workshop on real beauty, & learned about real beauty that came from inside, through qualities like strength, kindness, and leadership. Now the KIPP girls got to see real beauty in action, by shadowing Dell women for the day. The girls spent the morning with their mentors seeing DELL technology, going to meetings, touring Dell’s social media command center, and just talking with them. Then, in the afternoon, they got advice & learned more about careers in technology. Thank you to Dell for giving the girls the chance to spend time with these inspiring women and see that a career in technology is possible for them, too.
