The Girls Empowerment Network’s success with girls is only possible through the support of our community. Time, talent, and treasure are all appreciated so we’ve compiled a list of creative ways to support us.

  • Host an event in our honor! Here’s our toolkit full of ideas.
  • Give to GEN EVERY time you shop on Amazon, through Amazon Smile. It’s just like your typical Amazon transactions, except you can designate GENaustin to receive a .5 % donation every time you make a purchase.
  • Consider making an in-kind donation from GEN’s Wishlist.
  • Please consider making a gift that can be matched by your employer. Check our matching gift list to see if your employer has a gift matching program.
  • Make a workplace donation! GEN is a member of Community Shares of Texas where employees at participating companies and organizations can participate in workplace giving. There are a number of campaigns (Texas State Employee, City of Austin, Travis County, among others) that GEN participates in.
  • Thank you for your gift of stock. Please contact Julia Cuba Lewis (julia@girlsempowermentnetwork.org) for details on how to make this transfer. We prefer you make a gift of stock to GEN via electronic transfer, rather than mailing actual stock certificates. If you are giving a security, please verify with your broker that the stock is eligible for electronic delivery over the Depository Trust Company (DTC) system. This works for most stocks, but some securities have specific transfer instructions. Please note that we will liquidate all donations of securities as soon as possible.
  • Turn your car into girl empowerment!
  • Donate your time and get involved by volunteering. GEN is always looking for volunteers to get involved. Visit our volunteer page for more information.

Our Wishlist

Have office supplies sitting in your garage or attic that you don’t use anymore? The following is a list of items that could really help us carry out our mission more effectively and efficiently. Maybe you have one of these items laying around that you no longer use or perhaps you know of a business that could possibly donate one of them as an in kind gift.

If you can provide any of these items or have any ideas about how we can get them, please contact us at office@girlsempowermentnetwork.org. Thanks!

Many employers will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Companies differ in their policies, but if GEN meets their qualifications, it means more funding for our programs with your donation. If your employer is not on our list they may still offer matching gift programs. We are constantly updating our list, so please contact your employer for more information.
