Girl Talk Workshops VolunteerAre you a natural born leader? GENaustin is looking for dynamic, outgoing women who would like to lead workshops with girls in grades 4-12 at local schools. If you are interested in making an impact on girls and enjoy discussing body image, the media, healthy relationships, or friendships, please fill out a volunteer form.
GENaustin is looking to build off of the success of We Are Girls 2010 by expanding to reach even more young women, parents, and educations in 2011. In order to do this, we are looking for Conference Advocates across the state to promote the conference on the local level. This would involve spreading the word about We Are Girls 2011, communicating with GENaustin via email to receive updates, working with your local PTA, schools, churches, and youth organizations, and distributing marketing materials within your community. Volunteers for this opportunity can complete their commitment remotely across Texas.
Purpose: Conference Volunteer Leaders will assist in planning and execution of the 2011 We Are Girls conference. Each member of the committee will serve as a point of contact and leader for a specific group of volunteers at the conference.
Time Commitment:
• Four meetings between September 1st and November 5th to be set by the selected members of the team at times which will accommodate the most schedules possible.
• The day of the conference, November 12th.
Skills:
• Must be committed to the goals/mission of GENaustin.
• Must be team oriented and comfortable in a leadership role.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Previous volunteerism at the conference or event planning preferred.
Location: Middle Schools in AISD, Round Rock and Manor
GENaustin is looking for Strong Female Volunteer Leaders to assist with membership recruitment for clubGEN, a weekly, after-school program that trains high school girls to be peer mentors for middle school girls.
Volunteers will be visiting middle schools during lunch and after-school hours to spread their enthusiasm about clubGEN and get young women excited about joining.
Time commitment:
Minimum: 1-2 hours, once a month. Maximum: as often as you’d like!
We need volunteers who can be available at lunch time and after school times during our big recruitment weeks throughout the year.

The Girls Empowerment Network (GENaustin) wants you to host a party to benefit middle and high school girls in Central Texas. Every dollar raised at the party goes toward the 3,000 Girl Challenge, our goal to reach 3,000 girls in 2011 - 2012 school year!
Become a Host:
To host a party, all we ask is that you:
1. Open your home to your friends and colleagues
2. Send out invitations (we have a sample)
3. Supply food and drinks of your choice
