On Wednesday, March 5th from 5-9pm Ten Thousand Villages will be hosting a night of giving to benefit GENaustin.
Established in 1946, Ten Thousand Villages USA pioneered the concept of fair trade by buying crafts directly from artisans in the developing world, paying them a living wage for their work and developing long term relationships with them. For over 60 years, Ten Thousand Villages has helped to provide fair wages, working capital and a North American market for more than 100 artisan groups in more than 30 countries throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Ten Thousand Villages offers a wide variety of household accessories, books, toys, jewelry and foods such as chocolate, tea and coffee that are often made with organic ingredients.
Depending upon sales from 5-9pm, Ten Thousand Villages will donate between 10-15% to GENaustin, which will go directly to supporting clubGEN and Girl Talk programs.
So come out and show your support for Girls Empowerment and Free Trade!
