Staying Connected With Your Teen |
|
|
|
We will start a Staying Connected with Your Teen pilot group this spring at the Ann Richards School for 20 parents in the evenings at the school.
The evidence-based Staying Connected with Your Teen parent curriculum's
goal is to prevent problem behaviors among teens, such as
substance abuse and violence, by helping parents acquire or improve a variety
of key parenting skills and techniques.
Via six weekly workshops the program
focuses on strengthening family bonds and establishing clear standards for
behavior by helping parents more appropriately manage their teenager's
behavior while encouraging their adolescents growth toward independence.
