In a partnership with the Texas Cancer Council, oriGENal voice encourages girls to speak out against Big Tobacco. Through a peer-to-peer campaign led by a group of dedicated girl activists, the oriGENal voice campaign strives to keep girls in Central Texas tobacco-free in order to prevent disease - namely cancer. oriGENal voice is a great opportunity to work with girls and also be integral in the development of GENaustin programming. If you want to work with girls and the commitment to sponsor a clubGEN is too much, oriGENal voice is a great alternative.

Time commitment: 1-2 hours a month

• Attend monthly oriGENal voice committee meetings
• Strategize ways to introduce oriGENal voice anti-tobacco curriculum to Austin youth population.
• Interested in public relations, marketing, design, public health, youth empowerment and media production.

Time commitment 2-4 hours a month

• Interest in working one-on-one with girls at bi-monthly or monthly girl advisory meetings
• Working with girls to create media messages against Big Tobacco
• Assist in the implementation of oriGENal voice events
• Work with other oriGENal voice volunteers to coordinate girls

Work office – no set hours or specific events. Computer literate.

• Assist with oriGENal voice programming administrative tasks
• Research prospective program partners and grant opportunities
• Volunteer design skills for oriGENal voice collateral material
