Tell The Story of GENaustin
Every day the lives of girls are impacted by what we do. We know that- but what we don’t all get to see are their individual stories: the story of how the girl struggling with bullying found the courage to stand up for herself, or of how the girl from the troubled home was inspired to start going back to school every day. And not every important story seems like a big one: a girl who came to clubGEN one day feeling like she wasn’t pretty because she had glasses, and then realized the campus coordinator she admired wore glasses too- that’s an epiphany that matters.
That’s where you come in: you work with girls as volunteers, as campus coordinators, as managers of programming. You hear them speak, and you know their experiences. Help us tell their stories.
Starting now, and going through the end of May, GENaustin is accepting submissions for the stories of girls in our programs. And because we know all the stories submitted have value, and took effort, we’ll be sharing them on our website, our blogs, in fundraising campaigns, and through social media, to make sure that everyone is able to see the ways in which girls are growing and benefiting from the work we do. We want everyone to dig deep in their relationships with the girls to tell a quality story about a girl who had a success because of one of our programs. To encourage this, GENaustin will award one $500 prize and two $250 prizes, as well as submit everyone who enters into a prize drawing for a round-trip plane ticket.
