GENaustin is pleased to be an Amplify Austin partner organization! In celebration of this special day of giving, we are hosting a “power hour” at 1pm on Tuesday March 5th.

What is Amplify Austin?

Amplify Austin is a program of I Live Here, I Give Here. It’s a city wide day of giving, aimed at raising $1 million for local nonprofits. GENaustin is one of the partner agencies participating that donors can support.

Why should I donate to GENaustin on March 5th at 1pm?

Girls nationally are facing a crisis and GENaustin’s self-esteem building program are helping to turn the alarming statistics around. Thanks to Amplify Austin’s sponsors, every dollar donated during the 24 hour period from 7pm March 4th through 7pm March 5th is worth $1.16. Additionally, the organization that raises the most money each hour will receive an additional $1000. Help maximize your donation by giving at 1pm on March 5th!

What will my donation go to?

All the funds received during Amplify Austin will directly benefit scholarships for girls in our 180 Program.

Girls are the fastest growing population in the juvenile justice system today. Research shows that programs which intervene after the first or second offense are the most effective at preventing future high-risk behaviors. GENaustin’s 180 Program reaches many girls after a first offense and helps them get back on track, preventing them from entering or re-entering the juvenile justice system. Each of the 8-week group sessions includes a curriculum that focuses on developing girls’ bonding, goal-setting skills, self-esteem, mental health, attachment to school, violence prevention, issues with authority and substance abuse prevention.
